A dramatic crash landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday left a Delta Air Lines regional jet flipped upside down, forcing passengers to evacuate through emergency exits.
Details of the Crash
The Delta Airlines flight, operated by Endeavor Air as Flight 4819, was flying from Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Toronto. At approximately 3:30 PM, the aircraft landed at Canada’s busiest airport and somehow flipped onto its roof.
Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the accident. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will lead the investigation, with assistance from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
Passengers and Injuries
There were 80 people on board the flight, including 76 passengers and four crew members. All were able to evacuate the aircraft.
Eighteen people sustained injuries, including one child, and were treated at nearby hospitals. Fortunately, none of the injuries were reported as life-threatening. Experts believe the plane’s design and the use of seat belts played a significant role in preventing fatalities.

The crash resulted in the temporary shutdown of Toronto Pearson International Airport for over two hours. While flights resumed, disruptions continued as two runways remained closed for the investigation.
